Open Space Committee - Minutes
The Meeting of May 19 was attended by Mary Koon, Ken Clinton, Karl Heafield, Ken Lombard and guests Mike Swinford and Ian McSweeney.
The status of the Open Space Plan was discussed.~ Constructive comments about section 5 were made and these were forwarded to Pete Moloney.~ The rest of the main part of the plan is felt to be in pretty good shape.~ The Appendix still needs to be reviewed.
Mike Swinford was there to state the case for his property.~ He would like to see it protected but cannot afford to donate it.~ He presented some options, and then Ian came in to present further information.~ This would probably have to be a shared or joint effort with some other source of money.~ Ian suggested that part of the property may qualify for Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP) funding.~ This program will pay 100% of the appraised value of lands that qualify.~ He will pursue this.
Ian stated that the Lull Rd project was still possible with some contacts he has made, but no further offer has been made.
